Innovation and intellectual property management strategist
Corinne Le Buhan, PhD, founded IPStudies in 2010 to develop new products and services in the field of Intellectual Property Analytics in Europe. Corinne Le Buhan held a number of R&D and technology management positions for 15 years in the ICT sector and is a former VP of Technology Knowledge Management at Nagravision (Kudelski group). Her 25 years experience of technology transfers and research projects exposed her to a diversity of academic, public sector and industry perspectives, both at the SME and corporate level, including C-level decision committees. She was also responsible for a number of international standardization and regulatory activities as a technologist from 1995 to 2010 in the field of digital television and as expert in the European Commission Horizon2020 Advisory Group on Innovation in SMEs from 2013 to 2015. Corinne Le Buhan has setup the patent management strategy and organization for several high-tech companies since 2007 with a strong focus on IP valuation for the US markets, and currently teaches her experience on IP management and international licensing agreements at IEEPI in France and Switzerland.
Corinne Le Buhan holds a MsC in electrical engineering from INSA in Rennes (1994), a PhD in Telecommunications from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (1998) and a post-graduate diploma in Strategic Management of Intellectual Property and Innovation from the University of Strasbourg in Economy (2008).
Corinne Le Buhan is the author/co-author of 19 scientific and technical publications, as well as the inventor/co-inventor of 21 international patent applications (incl. 17 US granted patents). She is a member of IEEE, LES, AROPI, and AAIEEPI. She is experienced with the Patbase professional patent database as well as the US and European patent offices registers searches. In 2017, she co-founded the Swiss Patent Information User Group CHPIUG, where she is currently a member of the board committee.
A native from Brittany, Corinne Le Buhan now lives in the Swiss Alps with her husband Frédéric Jordan, also a technology entrepreneur, and their two daughters. Beyond her technology and IP practice, her vision of a smarter future emerging from our collective intelligence received several awards at regional and international open innovation challenges, including the Economist-Innocentive 2011 Human Potential Index ideation prize.
